Is home care an appropriate option? What should I consider?

As you are making decisions about your loved one’s care, you may explore home care as an option that will provide positive results. Cost is typically the biggest consideration. You should consider how your loved one feels about having a stranger in his or her home as this can sometimes be uncomfortable. Also, if your loved one is homebound or has limited mobility, a home care situation may limit the amount of social interaction they enjoy.

Our StoneBridge Senior Living family is ready to assist with any questions you may have during your evaluation process. Other resources for help and support during this process include hospital social workers, church members and clergy, physicians, community center staff and even your financial planner.

Are there any options for taking care of a loved one when I need a break or am traveling out of town?

Yes, StoneBridge Senior Living offers Respite services for such times. Contact the StoneBridge Senior Living community near you to learn more about this service.

Does a physician’s order need to be provided for admission to a skilled care or rehabilitation center?

Yes, a physician’s order must be provided upon admission. Your loved one will need to visit their primary care physician prior to arrival. A member of our StoneBridge caregiver family will assist you with the process and work with the physician’s office to make it as easy as possible.
